New Delhi: Indian national team head coach Stephen Constantine has named a 28-man squad which will fly to Abu Dhabi for the preliminary preparations for the AFC Asian Cup 2019 in UAE, which will begin in January. The final 23-man team is expected to be announced later.
Constantine had named a 34-man probables squad for a preparatory camp, which was held earlier this week. The likes of Sahal Abdul Samad and Komal Thatal, who were selected for the camp, have missed out on the trip to UAE.
Nishu Kumar and Jerry Lalrinzuala have also been ruled out of the squad owing to injury. The Indian national team have two and a half weeks of preparation before they play Thailand on January 6.
As part of their preparation, the Blue Tigers will also face off against Oman on December 27.
