The 134th edition of the Durand Cup, Asia’s oldest football tournament, kicks off today, July 23, 2025, serving as the grand curtain-raiser to India’s domestic football season. This year’s competition features 24 teams, including top Indian Super League (ISL) clubs, I-League sides, and teams from India’s armed forces and new entrants, segmented into six groups of four teams each. The group winners and the two best second-placed teams will qualify for the knockout stage.

Host Cities and Venues
Matches will be played across six venues in five cities:
- Kolkata: Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan and Kishore Bharati Krirangan
- Jamshedpur: JRD Tata Sports Complex
- Shillong: Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium
- Kokrajhar: SAI Stadium
- Imphal: Khuman Lampak Main Stadium
Kolkata will host two groups and the grand finale on August 23 at Salt Lake Stadium.
